HOW TO SEND FREE SMS VIA GMAIL

        Google launched a new service to send free SMS from Gmail acccount.Using this service users can send messages to any mobile number via Gmail Chat.Google free sms service is available to Indian Users along with 51 other countries in Asia, Africa and North America.Users won’t be able to send unlimited messages as it has 50 SMS credits for each user.

How to send SMS from Gmail

1. Login to your Gmail account & Click on the Setting option.
2. Go to the Labs tab.Now select enable SMS (text messaging) in Chat and press the button Save Changes at the bottom.
   
3. To send SMS all you need is to go to Chat Box which is integrated at the left side of gmail page.Selecting friend will open a new chat window.Now click on more option ,there you will findSend Text (SMS).
   Once you click Send Text SMS, you will be prompted to choose a country and enter mobile number. Add a number and then save.
    
4. You are now ready to go!Type a message in the text field , hit Enter.Your message will be sent to the phone number you entered. Start Chatting with your friends now.

SMS credits :

This is a nice way Google has found to encourage the use of this service. Initially, you are given fifty credits, which means you can send 50 messages. For every one message sent, one credit is deducted. But for every message received, say when someone replies to

When the SMS credit goes down to zero, one credit is added after 24 hours. A smart way to increase your credits would be to send a text to your own mobile phone, and then replying to it any number of times to refill your credits! Users can also increase SMS credit,  by sending a text message to their own phone and then by replying to that message.

         If there’s one thing that iOS hasn’t changed at all since its very inception, starting with version 1.0 and now to 6.1, it’s the look and feel of the interface. One thing that the user base has always had a beef with, however, was the OEMs’ decision to impose their custom skins over the vanilla Androidexperience, which essentially differentiated, say, Samsung’s products (TouchWiz) from those of HTC (Sense).

Sense has always been, in my opinion, one of the best custom Android skins out there, and it’s hard to argue with that once you’ve used a Sense-based interface for any amount of time. It’s absolutely beautiful, with elegant icons, highly functional widgets, and scenes that are sufficient to reflect your mood and operating environment for a lot of scenarios. The problem, however, is that Sense is not open source, and while there have been countless attempts to port Sense elements to other ROMs, it’s mostly been without much luck. How To Install Official CyanogenMod 10.1 Android 4.2 On Galaxy Note 10.1

Android may never have gained this much popularity as a smartphone and tablet operating system had it not been for a few certain reasons, one of them being the open source nature of the platform and the availabilityof custom firmware for various devices. You would be aware that Android, at its core, is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). There are now several ROMs out there for a variety of phones andtablets that are rooted directly into the AOSP itself. However, the trendsetter was, and will always be, CyanogenMod.

With every new release of Android, the popularity of CM continues to grow, mainly because it allows a true vanilla Android experience, has a load of options that you won’t otherwise find, and lets users on older devices enjoy the goodness for new Android releases that would otherwise not be supported by the OEMs themselves. Hence, it’s always a big deal when a popular device receives official CM support, and now, if you happen to own a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, sit back and hold on tight, because official CM 10.1 nightlies for the said tablet have been released.

As with any nightly builds on CM, this is a work in progress, and hence, may contain bugs that will make the ROM not suitable as a daily driver. That said, Android enthusiasts have never really considered a problem, and in fact, have always been a source of identifying the bugs with all new releases. Requirements

• Rooted Galaxy Note 10.1” with TWRP Recovery or Modified ClockworkMod Recovery
• CM10.1 ZIP package for your device
• Google Apps ZIP package
• Fully charged battery

Procedure

Step 1: Download both the CM10.1 package for Galaxy Note 10.1, and the Google Apps ZIP for Android 4.2, and copy them to the root of your device’s SD card.

Step 2: Reboot your Note 10.1 into recovery.

Step 3: In CWM recovery, select Install ZIP from SD card, followed by choose ZIP from SD card, and flashthe CM10.1 ZIP package.

Step 4: Repeat the above step and flash the GApps package.

Step 5: Now, after having flashed both packages, select wipe data/factory reset in recovery. It’s imperative that you do this; otherwise, you’ll be stuck in a boot loop.

Step 6: Reboot the device.

You will soon see the familiar CM boot logo, after which your device will wake up to the freedom of CyanogenMod. Enjoy!

Now Update Your Nokia Lumia To Windows Phone 7.8

             Nokia has announced today that Windows Phone 7.8 is now being pushed out to all Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900 devices. The company also stated that 7.8 has already been shipping on the Lumia 510. They stated that following extensive testing, the platform is now ready for end user consumption and that consumers will begin seeing update notifications over the coming weeks.

The 7.8 update will bring a host of new features to the platform but the one item most users are likely waiting for is the update to the start screen. The 7.8 update will give users the option to change the sizes of live tiles like Windows Phone 8  and also give the option of rotating lock screen images using a third party source.

While 7.8 is not a perfect solution for current owners of Windows Phone 7 devices, it certainly helps to bridge the gap between Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7 since Windows Phone 7 devices will not be updated to Windows Phone 8.
